I've been connected with tarot for most of my life. My mom got a tarot deck when I was in the seventh grade, and I loved staying up late reading tarot together. I read for myself in high school, but soon after that it stopped feeling relevant, largely because the decks I had access to didn't feel relevant to my life. In 2015, I discovered radical tarot readers like Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, Siobhan Rene, Beth Maiden, Carly Boyce and others, and I came home to tarot.
I'm white, fat, femme, extremely gay, massively genderqueer, and Jewish. I go by Bitter Water (they/them) on the internet, and I made this blog because I wanted to be part of the conversation about how tarot practice can help us imagine a different world and support us while we live in this one. I also blog about nature and my feelings at every sweet thing, and publish longer essays at bitter water.
